WeWoreWhat influencer infected with COVID-19 after Hamptons holiday
An influencer who spent the last few weeks on holiday in the Hamptons has received little sympathy after testing positive to COVID-19.
After holidaying during the global COVID-19 pandemic, a US-based fashion influencer has tested positive to the virus following a trip to the Hamptons.
WeWoreWhat founder Danielle Bernstein, shared her diagnosis with her 2.5 million followers on Saturday.
“I woke up without my sense of taste and smell,” she wrote on her Instagram story.
“My body is extremely sore, particularly my hips and legs … trying to stay hydrated and just take Tylenol.”

In an update to her followers, Ms Bernstein said her symptoms were flu-like and her body was “extremely achy”.
“I still can’t taste or smell,” she added.
“There are so many people in hospitals fighting for their lives and isolated from family.
“I do get scared but I know I’m fortunate and so grateful that I am able to get through this at home.”
While most of her following send their well wishes, some questioned whether the influencer and best-selling author had caught the virus while attending events on holidays in the Hamptons.
“Of course Danielle Bernstein tested positive for COVID,” one woman tweeted.
“Danielle Bernstein tested positive for coronavirus after an entire summer of being irresponsible in the Hamptons. Interesting,” another added.
Ms Berstein responded to the criticism, saying she had followed health and safety guidelines during her holiday, including wearing a mask.
“Small groups, dining out, all of it is currently allowed. Guidelines are there to help us, but they are clearly not bulletproof,” she wrote.
“Of course I could have been more careful and still got it … the virus is still very much here and I will be taking it even more seriously going forward.”
It is understood Ms Bernstein is now back in New York City to quarantine with her partner, who also tested positive but it asymptomatic for now.
