Welsh AirBnb throws in a field of alpacas for good measure

A COSY country AirBnb was already popular with tourists, but when the locals threw in their field of alpacas bookings went through the roof.

Airbnb disasters and how to avoid them

ALPACA tourism is taking off and this adorable AirBnb nestled in the Welsh countryside proves it.

More than 2500 homes use alpacas as a way to get people into their AirBnb but this home in Pentyrch, just outside of Cardiff in Wales, offers up a whole field.

The owners offer up “countryside walks, mountain bike trails and views over Cardiff and the Severn Estuary” as some of its drawcards when describing their picturesque home.

But the home also reminds potential guests not to forget — “You are very welcome to meet our herd of lovely alpacas”.

Guests that book the cottage stay in their own private room for just under $A80 a night.

The home has received rave reviews since it was listed, many of which thanked the hosts for their alpaca tours.

“Absolutely lovely home, spotless and with an amazing bathroom and shower. Myra and her husband were incredibly welcoming and friendly hosts, nearly as friendly as the alpacas,” one woman wrote.

“My daughter and her boyfriend stayed here after going to a concert and Myra and her husband were so helpful by picking them up from the train station and the concert. This really added to a lovely weekend away and the alpacas where just another incredible highlight and so friendly.”

The home is already proving popular with the guests and is completely booked out for September and has a smattering of available dates in October.

The Welsh home isn’t the only alpaca experience on offer on the homestay platform.

In the US state of Maine, guests can rent a two-bedroom apartment that sits directly above The Maine Alpaca Experience.

A quick walk from the apartment is the Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm where guests can get a free tour and visit more than 40 alpacas.

A home in the Dutch town of Kerkwerve is also home to alpacas where guests staying in the three-bedroom home can wander onto their balcony to feed the herds.

And a little closer to home, guests staying at Brookby Hill Cottage in Hawkesbury, New Zealand, can also spend their days with alpacas.

The cottage is also in the middle of the world famous Marlborough winemaking region which means you can sit on your veranda, sip a glass of wine and feed an alpaca all at the same time.
