Impatient passenger deploys plane's emergency slide

“THE door is not important!”

This is the priceless response from a passenger who will spend 10 days behind bars for opening the emergency exit on a plane.

The man, whose name has not been released, was detained at Nanjing Lukou International Airport after yanking open the door of the China southern Airlines plane.

Then, without saying a word, he simply sat down near it and gazed outside, the Beijing Newsreports.

He pulled open the door with ease.
He pulled open the door with ease.

According to the airline, he has refused to apologise for his behaviour.

Nobody had tried to stop him from opening the door, which he casually walked up to while others were boarding the jet which was sitting on the tarmac. Flight attendants were shocked.

The plane was delayed for almost an hour as more security checks were carried out.

While his identity may not have been revealed yet, the South China Morning Post has obtained an image claiming to show the man in his seat after the incident.

Let’s hope he’s learned that such acts just won’t fly.
