Surgery addict’s $7000 plea for ‘trashing’ Airbnb
A heavily injected and tattooed influencer has copped major backlash for asking followers to help pay for an apartment she “trashed”.
A surgery-addicted influencer has copped major backlash for begging followers to help pay for damages to an Airbnb she “trashed” while on a “three-week bender”.
Mary Magdalene, a Canadian social media star known for her love of plastic surgery, was celebrating her 30th birthday in West Hollywood with friends when things turned expensive, very quickly.
The group was staying at a Airbnb rental which was allegedly “trashed”, with Mary copping a hefty damages and cleaning fee of $CA13,000 ($A14,700).
She started a GoFundMe asking her “supporters” for $CA6500 ($A7350) – but instead copped flak for asking for donations.
“So a lot of people are really angry about the GoFundMe campaign,” she said in an Instagram video.
“All I am doing is using platforms available to anyone to my benefit. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.”
Mary admitted her campaign is “ridiculous” as there are “real causes” for people to donate money to.
“I am not delusional or acting like this is a big important cause – the platform is there so I am trying to use it before I am the one having to pay the thing in full, which I will.
“But why not try this first?”
Mary said she is not putting the blame on anyone.
“It’s my fault and I should not put myself in these situations.”
But she has asked anyone wanting to help, to fork any amount of cash.
“Anyone who doesn’t want to help, I don’t blame you, but those who do, girl power to you.
“Sh*t, I was just keeping it real on what it’s for. For those who got offended I am sorry, like I said, don’t hate the player hate the game.”
On her GoFundMe page, Mary said she can afford to pay the bill, but doesn’t want to pay for it out of her own pocket.
“But I will if this GoFundMe doesn’t work,” she added.
She explained she “did her best” to keep the apartment in good condition, even hiring a maid.
“I feel bad because the host was nice to me although I do feel I could have gotten the stain out of the couch because the maid I hired did before,” she wrote.
She said while she doesn’t feel the bill is “totally fair”, she does “feel bad”.
“I do have the money but I do not prefer to pay it out of my own money. If you can help pay I would love it but if you think this is a dumb campaign and rather not, I also don’t blame you. Anyway thank you to those who don’t mind contributing!”
It’s not the first time she has asked her 142,000 Instagram followers to dip into their pockets.
Earlier this month, she begged followers to help get her to a California hospital after her body started to reject illegal silicone injections she had in her buttocks, which started to “rot”.
She had it done by an unlicensed practitioner in May.
The influencer has spent more than $200,000 on procedures including boob jobs, a Brazilian butt lift, fat transfers and nose jobs.
She shared graphic photos of the open wounds on her backside, in a series of Instagram posts.
“I’m so scared. My body seems to be fighting off a big infection because all three of my tattoos aren’t healing either. They are all infected with open wounds,” she cried in a clip.
“I’m in a different country [the US] and I don’t know what to do. I feel helpless.”
She later updated fans, telling them her wounds were bleeding, with followers advising she go to the emergency room to “avoid sepsis”.
Despite the costs. Mary made her way to hospital where she spent the night being treated, and was prescribed antibiotics. She has since healed from her wounds.
Mary had her first cosmetic procedure at age 21. Since then she has gone onto have multiple boob and nose jobs, butt lifts and injections, as well as a brow lift, fat transfers, veneers and liposuction.
In April, she told The Sun she almost died on the operating table during surgery to “inflate” her vagina in Colombia.
“I had to get two blood transfusions,” she told the publication.
“The doctor said I was losing so much blood, and turning very pale. He thought I was going to die.”
Mary said she wanted the look so she could have “the world’s fattest vagina”.
