Stressed mum with crying baby kicked out of first class

A FASHION blogger says she was forced to give up her first class seats on a flight because her baby daughter was “upsetting passengers”.

EVERY parent who has ever bravely boarded a plane with a baby knows that there is no greater hell.

You’re stuck in a confined space with no way out until you arrive at the other end and your little cherub knows it — and plays on it big time.

American fashion blogger Arielle Noa Charnas foresaw this inevitable torture and wisely booked first class seats for herself, her husband and their daughter Ruby.

The six-hour flight from New York to LA they took a few days ago was the very first time they had flown with their baby girl so they wanted it to be as stress-free as possible.

What could possibly go wrong when you’ve forked out a motza for the best seats in the house, right? You’ll receive champagne on arrival, nothing will be too much trouble and your bub can scream as loud as she likes.

Hmmm, not quite…

‘I WAS GETTING EYE ROLLS AND HEAD SHAKES’

This was far from the blissful scenario for the Something Navy blogger.

“I had a screaming, crying, sleepy baby who was so overwhelmed that she couldn’t fall asleep,” Arielle wrote on an Instagram post. “My husband and I paid for first class so that we’d have the extra space and could lay down with her.”

The Something Navy blogger shared the incident with her 934,000 followers.

From the second the family boarded the plane they were made to feel that they had no right to be there.

“Once we were boarded I was getting tons of eye rolls and head shakes from fellow passengers on @delta because my baby was crying (as if I could just look at Ruby and say OK now it’s time to stop).”

This type of reaction is fairly standard from child-free passengers — most of us have done it — or at the very least thought it before.

But what happened next was unbelievable.

“I tried to ignore it until 10 minutes passed and a flight attendant came over to me and asked me and my baby to move to the back of the plane (as if the people in the back didn’t matter). Give up our seats that we paid for and move,” she explains.

“Apparently I was upsetting and getting a lot of complaints from the first class passengers.”

‘THE STEWARDESS MADE THE SITUATION WORSE’

The situation reduced the poor mamma to tears.

“I started crying because I was so stressed and anxious and instead of the stewardess being helpful and compassionate she instead made the situation worse.”

Arielle wasn’t sure what to make of it all until she began to tell people about the mortifying experience.

“I don’t know what’s right and wrong when it comes to flying with a baby but after telling a few people the story they were in shock. Thoughts?”

Arielle’s followers had lots of thoughts — in fact, more than 1500 of them.

One mother who had been flying with her kids since they were teeny had anything but positive experiences.

“That’s ridiculous and I am sorry you had to deal with all this. I hope @delta makes it up to you! I have two daughters myself and have been flying with them since they are three months old and I have never had problems with the airline and passengers — people should be more compassionate.”

Another mum said when she flew first class last year with her three-year-old and 18-month-old kids — no one complained though she was “sure they weren’t happy about it”.

“We even got a couple of people say some kind words. Sorry you had a bad experience but don’t let it stop you from living life the way you want. If customers don’t want to be on a plane with other customers, they can charter. If they can’t afford it then they can’t afford a choice about who sits near them. Don’t change your plans. I hope you have better luck with kinder people on the next flight!”

But one mamma knows exactly how Arielle feels.

“I got nasty looks too when I flew with my three kids, one a newborn, and all I could think was how selfish their thinking was! Not one helped me (I was travelling without my husband) and one lady even pushed [past] me boarding because apparently I wasn’t going fast enough. All in all, I was pretty disappointed with humanity after that flight.”

“We’re headed back to NYC today and we’re hoping for a much better experience,”

Arielle said at the end of her post.

We really hope your flight back was stress-free and that Ruby slept the whole way while you sipped on a chilled glass of bubbles!
