Schoolies rack up eye-watering shopping bill on NSW south coast
A group of schoolies have filmed themselves racking up an extraordinary supermarket bill in a viral video.
A group of schoolies has shared footage of their supermarket shop on social media, with the video going viral due to the eye-watering cost of their food and drink.
The TikTok clip shows the group waiting with a trolley packed with Red Bull cans, pancake mix and soft drink bottles at Ulladulla Woolworths on the NSW south coast.
The savvy shoppers amassed a bill of $1046.05, with the TikTok owner, Immy, writing that schoolies was “already making a dent”.
“Honestly probs cheaper to get Uber Eats,” one commenter said.
It comes as 2022 Schoolies enters its final week, with Surfers Paradise crowds praised by authorities for their behaviour so far.
Queensland Police Acting Chief Superintendent Rhys Wildman said there were an extra 10,000 school leavers on the Gold Coast this year, and behaviour had generally been “incredible”.
“We’ve seen our school leavers displaying a lot of maturity for their young years,” he said.
“Normally, in previous years, we wouldn’t see school leavers until around midday when they’d start surfacing; driving through the Gold Coast earlier this morning, they’re out and about, going to cafes, having breakfast.”
