Hollywood actress Jessica Chastain hits out at JetBlue over $15 credit
A Hollywood star has unleashed on one of the biggest airlines in the US, after a six-hour flight didn’t go to plan.
Hollywood heavyweight Jessica Chastain has unleashed on major US airline JetBlue, following a recent six hour flight with the carrier.
Chastain, known for her roles in Interstellar, Zero Dark Thirty and The Martian to name a few, took to social media platform X to share her disgruntled thoughts about a recent experience with the budget carrier.
It is understood that the actress’ in-flight entertainment system didn’t work during the flight, which is normally a free inclusion with each seat.
However, the reimbursement issued by the airline for the inconvenience wasn’t enough to satisfy the Oscar winner.
“Thank you @JetBlue for your $15.00 credit,” Ms Chastain wrote on X to her almost 1 million followers.
“My flight was US$1500 and the credit is 1/100 of the money I paid you.
“Strange that I paid that for your flight entertainment system that didn’t work for the duration of my 6hr flight, but I guess it was worth it for this $15 credit.”
The 47-year-old actress received a public response from the airline on the social media platform, saying they were “sorry” for her disappointment, and that a direct message with the airline’s team would prompt further investigation.
Chastain quipped back publicly, saying she’d already “been in contact” with the airline, before posting the private message exchange with her followers.
“The flight attendants issued the $15 each for the TV outage,” a JetBlue representative sent to Chastain in the undated message exchange.
“I understand but I spent $1500 on the flight and so did my husband. There should be some flight credit or something since I have a TrueBlue account and have been a loyal customer,” Chastain responded.
“I understand. The $15 you received is flight credit. I am sorry there is not more I can do,” the JetBlue agent replied.
While it is unclear where the actress travelled to on board the flight in question, some of her followers questioned what she hoped to receive from the airline.
“I don’t think they refund you for the whole flight just because the TV didn’t work lol,” one wrote.
“Jessica i love you but please read the room.”
“What a petty, petty, post at a time like this. Do better, JC.” another added.
“Celebs … they’re just like us ! $15 is not enough!” another joked.
According to the airline’s website, JetBlue is the only U.S. airline with seat back screens at every seat, with live TV, movies, music and unique content “all at your fingertips and all for free.”
