Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry slammed for Dubai post amid UK lockdowns
A reality star has been lashed by followers over a tone deaf Instagram post that came as millions of people were told not to leave their homes.
A UK reality star has infuriated social media followers with a tone deaf post from a Dubai beach, right as the UK went into a brutal third lockdown.
Anger has been growing on social media over British celebrities who have been coming and going from the United Arab Emirates, which is one of the few holiday destinations where UK travellers are not required to quarantine back home.
Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry is the latest celebrity to cop a backlash, after she declared she was “at her happiest” while on a ritzy holiday with mates in Dubai.
The 25-year-old shared a photo of herself on the beach in the Emirati city, with the words: “Happiest when im [sic] on the beach”.

She had previously explained she would be staying in Dubai for two months, by which time the UK lockdown may be over.
“I was supposed to be leaving in two days but I’ve decided I’m staying here for two months,” she posted. “I’m not leaving.”
England and Scotland have been sent into a full lockdown, which expected to last until mid-February at least, to combat an explosion of cases spurred by a new COVID-19 variant.
“Really is a kick in the teeth when we’re all stuck in the UK unable to go out or do anything and you’ve got all these celebs loving life in Dubai ‘working’,” one follower wrote in response to the post.
Another fan fumed: “Honestly how are celebs allowed to travel to different countries when COVID is about.
“No wonder why it’s spreading even more! Not hating just saying!”
Another wrote: “Seems like half of Instagram are ‘working’ in Dubai? Is there no COVID out there? Doesn’t seem to be any restrictions at all?”
Someone else said Ferry was “bang out of order” saying: “Shouldn’t be allowed to travel at all.
“The average person in the UK has to stay at home and stick to rules, not seeing friends or family … Struggling!”
However, others defended Ferry, saying: “Don't know why people have to be mean; she’s living her life let her be.”
The reality star’s Instagram feed and stories reveal the lavish hotel where she is staying in Dubai, as well as luxury boat rides and other vision showing off the glittering city.
