A young traveller was minding her own business at the airport when she received a “creepy” and unsolicited text message from a man who got her number from a tag on her luggage.

Kirsten, from the US, took to social media to share the bizarre and intrusive encounter that left her unsettled.

“Ya’ll, I was at the airport, and the creepiest thing just happened to me. So I’m sitting there on my layover and then I get this text,” she said.

“Hi Kristen, My name is Nate. I saw you and thought you were so beautiful, so I had to find a way to talk to you,” the text message reads.

“I saw your number on your luggage tag and decided to text you. I promise this isn’t as weird as it seems. Give a guy a chance.”

Kirsten was naturally completely unimpressed by the message and also crept out.

Her phone number was meant for emergency purposes, not to be taken by some random man who couldn’t even spell her name right.

She had been at the airport, just trying to get through a layover, and was now aware that a strange man was watching her and had gotten up close and personal with her luggage.

“If he wanted to talk to me so badly, why didn’t he come up and talk to me like a normal human being?”, she asked.

She called it a complete “invasion of privacy”, explaining that the text message was particularly troubling because she hadn’t even noticed a guy looking at her.

“I’m extra weirded out because I have my address on my luggage, so he could potentially know where I live now,” she said.

Kirsten finished the video by warning other women to put their luggage tags facing inward so random people couldn’t take their numbers down.

“Turn your luggage tag instead out so your personal information isn’t available and PSA to all the creepers – do better,” she warned.

Reacting online, people were stunned.

“Wait! This really happened?”, one wrote.

“This is something that would never even cross my mind. So scary,” another admitted.

“My jaw literally dropped. I’m horrified,” someone else said.

“I am so sorry! This is so violating,” another wrote.

“Ladies, these men are desperate. Be careful out there,” one warned.
