Despite it being located just 40 minutes from the city, some locals have only just discovered it, saying they had no idea it even existed.

It can be challenging to find, which is one of the reasons it’s not as well knowm with visitors having to navigate through 1.1km of bush and creeks to get there.

Once you complete the trek, you will find what has been described as a “slice of paradise on earth” with the waterhole offering crystal clear swimming at the bottom of the falls.

“POV: You find a beach with a waterfall?” he captioned the clip.

It’s attracted more than 386,000 views prompting many to want to go check it out.

“We need to go here,” one person insisted, tagging their friend.

“This is such a cool waterfall,” wrote another, while a third also tagged their mate, saying: “This is the waterfall I was telling you about scouts falls near Coffs Harbour.”

Others who have been also highly recommended the “hidden gem”.

To get there, visitors will need to follow Coramba Rd (from Coffs Harbour) along the Orara Way to Glenreagh (approx 41.8km), turn right onto Sherwood Creek Road.

Once you pass the turn to Sherwood Road on your right, park on the side of the road just before a high timber bridge.

Just to the right of the bridge is a small trail leading into the bush which goes down to the river.

Follow the river up for about 20 minutes, passing a small plunge pool initially, to get to the larger pool underneath the waterfall.

The trail to Scouts Falls is 1.1km, signposted by a graffitied boulder and winds through the bush across creeks and over rocky outcrops.

“Scouts is definitely one of a kind! So lucky to call Coffs my home!” one person wrote on Instagram.

Visitors are reminded to take their rubbish with them as there are no facilities at the falls.
