Australian expats have revealed their huge incomes while working and living in Bali.

Youtuber Charlie Chang, who visited the popular Indonesian island in July, interviewed digital nomads about their careers for his more than 1 million subscribers.

As expected, he ran into quite a few Australians.

One of them was 22-year-old Kaya who had made $50,000 that month remotely managing Only Fans creators.

“Don’t go down the traditional route,” she offered as advice in the clip posted to YouTube last month.

“I definitely didn’t think I was going to be in the adult industry when I was older and I would have never guessed that in a million years but here I am. And I would never have the lifestyle I do without it.

“I think some people might judge but you die anyway so do whatever you want at the end of the day.”

Kaya said her typical work day involved going to the gym and then making social media content like TikToks and Instagram reels for the women she manages, as well as a few meetings.

She said Bali was the perfect location for making business connections because of the high number of digital nomads.

Fellow young Aussie Ethan described his job as “Only Fans Growth”.

“Before this we were in the e-commerce space doing a lot of digital marketing and one day, had an idea, saw a gap in the market for marketing,” the 21-year-old from Melbourne said.

“We thought we could market models the same way. Called up a few friends. Ran the idea by them and got started.”

Ethan said the most money he had made in a month was over $1 million.

Jules, another man from Melbourne, said he ran a wedding and events business in Bali alongside his wife.

The idea came from the couple having their own wedding there. His wife already worked in events management.

While he didn’t give an exact figure, the 38-year-old said he earned a six figure salary.

“But that’s years of running a business and getting it to that point,” he explained.

Jules said his advice for aspiring entrepreneurs was to plan, do your research and then “just take the jump”.
