A towel line has revealed how seriously people take their poolside holidays

A peculiar photo has revealed how seriously people take their holidays, and the wild lengths they’ll go to for the perfect day out.

Holiday-maker slams ‘selfish’ hotel guests for major sunbed crime

Photos have revealed the highly competitive behaviour tourists employ to nab the best poolside spot.

There’s not a person in this world who doesn’t understand the joys of snagging the most premium spot by the pool.

Somewhere sunny, with enough shade to create the perfect conditions so you look like a bronzed Lara Bingle and not a lobster.

Getting the right spot by the pool can make or break a day when you are on vacation, but some holiday goers have gone feral in their pursuit of the ideal spot.

Photos of towels organised in a neat line on the floor of the Majorca hotel, a swanky four-star resort located in Camp De Mar in Spain, are a prime example.

Things have gotten competitive at the hotel, with tourists getting up super early and leaving their towels down in the foyer just outside the pool area to snag a prime position.

The hotel features a very luxurious and fancy pool area – where guests can relax and live their best lives.

There are a heap of beach chairs to choose from so people can spend the day by the pool ala White Lotus.

Guests have taken an innovative approach in attempt to snag the best spots and formed a towel line.

The well-ordered line is a clever ploy to work around the hotel’s pool opening hours, because you can’t get up at the crack of dawn to bag the best spot, but you can lay your towel down in the early hours of the morning and linger around to pounce when doors open at 8am.

The towel line is the kind of hysteria you’d expect from people lining up for Taylor Swift tickets, not just for a poolside moment.

British holiday-maker Geoff was left shocked by their actions.

“To control the sun-bed madness, the door from the hotel to the pool area was kept locked until 8am.

“So people were lining their towels up on the floor in a queue order by the door before it opened. I must add this wasn’t youngsters, but mostly elderly and middle-aged people,” he told The Mirror.

He also revealed that the photos didn’t actually do the towel line justice. Yes, it is even worse in person.

“The towel line actually went back much further (than the picture shows), and the owners were seated on the sofas just out of sight, ready to fly outside when the door was unlocked.

“I don’t know what time they started, but we were up at 6.30am one morning to grab breakfast before an excursion, and there was already an established towel queue forming at the door. Crazy behaviour!” he said.
