Passenger’s mid-flight act of revenge on annoying seatmate

A fed-up flyer decided to enact revenge in a spectacular way after his seatmate committed an annoying mid-air act, and filmed the odd encounter.

A fed-up passenger has enacted revenge on an annoying fellow flyer, even posting footage of the incident on social media.

Upon spotting his seatmate committing a mid-air etiquette breach by invading his space, the passenger got creative with how he dealt with the situation while in the close confines of the flight cabin.

Shared onto the Passenger Shaming Instagram account with the caption: “Not all heroes wear capes”, the video begins by showing the man appearing to smile, perhaps because he has a plan for the irritating seatmate. Or perhaps it’s a grimace.

It then shows the situation at his feet – the passenger who was sitting behind him had stretched their foot out so that it was pressing against the man’s foot while in his row. What’s more – as a bonus their toes were visible as they were wearing sandals.

So he decided the best way to reclaim his space would be to take action – and film it all for our entertainment, of course.

The video shows him holding an open water bottle and pouring water on the other passenger’s foot. As the video ends, the seatmate’s foot can be seen recoiling backwards a bit but remained in view. So it’s unknown how this mile-high foot war ended, and whether or not the man was victorious in reclaiming his space.

The video attracted hundreds of comments, with most sympathetic to the passenger’s situation.

One traveller wrote: “He fulfilled every annoyed passenger’s dreams right there.”

While another commented: “I’d stand on their toes while I get up to use the washroom and then politely look at them and apologise because I’m passive aggressive.”

And a third said: “Deserved. I had a man manspread on a plane by putting one of his feet over mine, under the seat in front of mine! I locked him as much as I could (he’d move his fort then move it back). People on planes.”

Meanwhile, this passenger recalled an uncomfortable experience they were in: “I had someone shove their foot through the gap between the seats and rest it in my armrest. Elbow drop onto the foot for the win. She was not amused but neither she nor her male companion said anything after I stood up right after I did it and they got a look at me.”

Others wrote; “solidly appropriate”, “OJ next time and make them sticky” and “way too kind, I would have just stomped on it”. Some called his revenge “perfect” and “devilish”.

There were some more calmer responses: “Had the same issue once and I quickly told the infringer to pull back their legs. Not my problem if they are too tall, or the seats are too small”.
