The moment a King’s Guard began to sob while on duty has been captured on camera, and it was due to a big surprise.
They are the most stoic of figures, and are typically unflappable.
It undoubtedly takes a lot to break the composure of a King’s Guard. However, one such moment has been caught on camera. The sight of a loved one amid a sea of unfamiliar faces sparked the emotional scene.
The video starts off showing a King’s Guard standing strong on her horse while it pours with rain outside Buckingham Palace, with a bustling crowd around her and sirens blaring in the nearby streets.
An undoubtedly chaotic scene. Yet she doesn’t falter.
Many tourists approach to pose for pictures next to her horse. Some even stroke the animal’s nose.
Suddenly the previously composed guard smiles and can be seen looking teary, as she spots her parents in the crowd.
“That’s her dad!” another person in the crowd calls out.
The duo approaches their daughter and strokes the horse while chatting.
The teary-eyed guard can then be seen with a smile as her parents turn to face her, and her mother also strokes her daughter’s leg.
The guard nods when asked a question by her mother, before breaking down in tears, bending her head forward and using her white gloves to wipe her eyes.
The family then pose for a photograph taken by a member of the crowd.
