Jordanian airline skewers Donald Trump’s Muslim ban
A JORDANIAN airline has mocked Donald Trump’s controversial call to ban Muslims from entering the US with a witty, well-timed promotion.
DONALD Trump’s call for Muslims to be banned from entering the United States has been one of the more controversial comments made during the election campaign.
But an airline from the Muslim-majority kingdom of Jordan has taken it in their stride with good humour.
As Americans headed to the polls to vote in the presidential election, Royal Jordanian Airlines posted a promotion on social media for flights to the US.
It read: “Just in case he wins ... Travel to the US while you’re still allowed to!”
The well-timed post has attracted close to 8000 likes and 1500 comments.
The carrier flies passengers from Jordan, where Sunni Islam is the dominant religion, to the US cities of New York, Chicago and Detroit.
Mr Trump originally proposed an outright ban on Muslim immigration to the US but later softened his stance to “extreme vetting”.
