Pilot confirmed dead in Motley Crue lead singer Vince Neil’s private jet collision
Officials have revealed a pilot has died after a rock star’s private jet veered off the runway and smashed into another parked plane at a US airport.
The pilot of a private jet owned by Motley Crue lead singer Vince Neil that veered off the runway and crashed into another plane, has been confirmed dead.
The Learjet 35A jet – model 35A – was attempting to land at the Scottsdale Airport in Arizona when it collided with a parked Gulfstream jet.
Footage shows it taxiing along the runway before it appears to hit something which causes the small aircraft owned by the 64-year-old rocker to start skidding along the airstrip. It’s then seen careering towards a stationary plane before it smashes into the side of the aircraft.
The rock star’s girlfriend Rain Hannah Andreani and her friend Ashley were both aboard the jet, together with two pilots.
Neil was not on the plane at the time of the incident.
The two friends were rushed to hospital and according to TMZ, Andreani suffered five broken ribs.
The band confirmed in a statement on X that one of the pilots was killed in the crash, and that they will be involved in the efforts to help the family.
“Earlier today, a private plane owned by Vince Neil was involved in a crash near Scottsdale, AZ,’ the group said, according to the Daily Mail.
“The pilot was tragically killed; the co-pilot and other passengers were taken to local hospitals.”
In a previous statement shared on both Instagram and X, Neil’s representative Worrick Robinson said at 2.39pm local time on Monday, a Learjet aircraft Model 35A owned by the singer was attempting to land at the Scottsdale Airport.
“For reasons unknown at this time, the plane veered from the runway causing it to collide with another parked plane,” Mr Robinson said.
“On board Mr. Neil’s plane were two pilots and two passengers. Mr. Neil was not on the plane.”
Mr Robinson of the firm Worrick Robinson Law said the artist’s “thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today”.
On Tuesday, officials said the landing gear on Neil’s plane failed, which caused it to veer off the runway and smash into the other jet, according to The Sun.
Ms Andreani, who has been dating Neil for 14 years, hasn’t spoken out about the crash.
The equestrian rider was heading to Scottsdale for a barrel racing competition, according to a post from her horse trainer.
She often travels on his private jet and in September, posted pictures and videos on social media of herself on the plane or boarding the jet.
Images shared by The Sun, show Ms Andreani laughing and smiling on the tarmac in one of the posts as she prepared to get on the jet.
The crash is the fourth deadly US plane crash in the past two weeks.
