Bogged bus baffles beachgoers at Aldinga Beach

Beachgoers were baffled to find a bus bogged in the shallows of a popular Aussie 4WD spot on Thursday morning.

An unlucky camper found themself in hot water on Thursday morning when the bus they were sleeping in bogged in the shallows of a popular South Australian beach.

The bus-turned-motorhome was reportedly driven onto Aldinga Beach in Adelaide on Wednesday night before the owner fell asleep.

It is understood the driver woke up at 4am to discover the bottom of the vehicle submerged in water.

Early morning beachgoers were baffled to discover the bus, questioning why the non-4WD had been driven on the beach to begin with, according to The Advertiser.

It seems the bus owner didn’t notice signage in the area warning drivers to only park on “hard sand”.

Colourful commentary has flooded social media following the discovery.

“Cheap camper for sale, suit surfers, as is, where is,” one person joked.

“Oh dear, looks like an expensive mistake!” another wrote.

“Mate... you can’t park there,” one person added.

Efforts have been made to dig out the bus and get it off the beach before the next high tide,

with a local towing company reportedly offering to remove the vehicle for $2000.

Vehicles are permitted on Aldinga, Moana, Sellicks and Silver Sands beaches between 5.30am and 11.59pm if they have a beach permit or pay an access fee.
