Your say in Perisher's iPhone Application

RECORD your ski or snowboard runs on Facebook and locate friends on the slopes with Perisher's iPhone App Tapped.

THE iPhone has taken the telecommunications world by storm, and Perisher Blue is the latest company to launch their own iPhone application.

Perisher Tapped is a "unique and comprehensive guide to Perisher Resort", enabling you to do everything from locating yourself on the Perisher trail maps to getting reports on snow conditions and the weather.

But if you're just not impressed by what Perisher have chosen to include in the App, you have the power to change it.

Over the coming weeks Perisher management will be adding to the App, and are open to any ideas from their fellow skiers - it's as simple as emailing Perisher with your suggestion and including ‘iPhone' in the subject bar.

Currently, the application will give you the day's highlights and help you if you get lost, allowing you to locate your friends on the trail. You can record your track and calculate the distance, and display your ski or snowboard runs on the trail map, which you can email, post to Facebook or access via Google Earth.

"With Perisher Tapped, everything is at your fingertips. Anything skiers and snowboarders want to know or experience is just a click away - they can even keep to-to-date on our Facebook and Twitter posts," Perisher general manager, Gary Grant, said.

Other Perisher Tapped features include statistics and facts about the resort, webcam images, a Skitube timetable and information about lessons, key Perisher places, lifts and amenities.

The application can be used across all seven of Perisher's peaks, and for those without an iPhone, they have created a site especially for mobile phones, which holds loads of relevant information.

The application is available free from the Apple Store.
