Item Aldi insiders say will walk off the shelves during Snow Sale

In just a few more days, Aldi’s biggest sale event will drop. But now, an insider has revealed the top items that will cause chaos at the annual Snow Sale.

If there’s one thing we know, it’s that people go nuts for Aldi’s annual snow gear special buys sale.

Shoppers get so invested in bagging a bargain, they will often try “working in teams” to get their hands on the best deal.

The ski sale, launched in 2008, is the German supermarket chain’s most popular special buys event.

So, get ready to elbow people out of the way for reasonably priced snow gloves because according to the publicists, the retailer will deliver its “biggest and best” snow gear sale yet in 2019.

The Aldi ski sale often draws large crowds.

From jackets to goggles, boots and underlayers, Aldi’s snow gear special buys sale provides Aussie shoppers with everything to keep warm and dry while hitting the slopes.

But insiders have revealed to news.com.au which of lucrative items will be in high demand when the annual sale launched on Saturday, May 18 — the same day as our federal election.

1. Adults Merino Thermal Underwear — all under $40

The thermal items are all breathable, and the higher the number the more breathable the material is.

The thermals are set to be a big seller.

2. Adults and Children’s Ski jackets and pants — all under $60

These jackets are waterproof, with each item holding a different rating. The higher the number, the more waterproof

As always, insiders say the ski jackets will be highly sought after.

The jackets and pants also have DuPont’s Sorona wadding which is a renewable sourced fibre that keeps the outer garments insulated, breathable, moisture resistant and heat retentive in all alpine conditions.

The jackets also contain a Ski lift pass pocket and zips in pockets for wet conditions

3. Children’s thermo boots — all under $20

These boots are contain a polar fleece lining and three layered EVA insock in aluminium and thinsulate layers with a waterproof membrane to keep feet cosy and dry.

The thermo boots, which look like sneakers, will be popular for kids.

4. Adults and children’s goggles — all under $15

Perhaps one of the most crucial items when hitting the slopes, the ski goggles will only set you back $14.99.

With an adjustable head strap and two different lenses to choose from, they offer UV protection, are anti-fog coated and available in black or grey.

The goggles, which are less than $15, are always a hit.

They come in a choice of two colours — grey and black.

Previously, the sale has caused chaos, attracting thousands of shoppers across the country desperate to snap up a cool saving on snow gear.

Adult ski jackets and pants, for example, have retailed for less than $70 each previously, and that makes up just a small portion of bargains available.

In 2017, the sale created chaotic scenes in stores across the country, with some shoppers pushing and shoving their way through the aisles.

Aldi insiders have revealed the items that will fly off the shelves first.

According to The Australian, the sale of ski gear is dominated by a select few chain and private operators who often struggle to compete with Aldi’s low price point.

Traditionally, buying or even renting gear, along with chair hire, snowboards, skis and boots, is an expensive ask on a family.

Australia’s ski and snow retail sector — estimated to be worth more than $2 billion a year — has now been dominated by Aldi’s annual sale.

It’s created such a cult following, the retail giant introduced a competition that gives shoppers the chance to win one of 10 Perisher weekend packages — including accommodation, ski lift passes, lessons and ski or snowboard hire.

This year, the competition will give shoppers the chance to win more than $30,000 in prizes.

Items will be available in stores Australia-wide, while stocks last.
