Inside Australia’s $22k-per-night Park Hyatt Sydney Suite

From a spa bath with Harbour Bridge views, a fire place and plenty of booze – this is what it’s like in Australia’s most lavish hotel room.

When it comes to booking a weekend away, most of us like to splash out in one way or another.

Perhaps with a nice bottle of wine, or maybe a massage or even taking the afternoon off to have a romantic long lunch for two.

But what about handing over almost $45,000 on a hotel room for a two-night stay?

To put that in perspective, you're looking at the equivalent of 12,858 cheeseburgers or even 18,000 packets of Tim Tams.

Well, if you have some spare change (and I mean, some serious spare change) perhaps it’s time to splash out the best the Harbour City has to offer?

Known as the Sydney Suite at the Park Hyatt, this lavish hotel room is one of Australia’s most expensive in the country.

As one of the most expensive hotel rooms in the country, the Sydney Suite, has rumoured to have hosted some pretty big names including Drake and Pippa Middleton.

The ‘room’ itself (which actually feels more like a house on the harbour) is rumoured to have played host to Drake, Kylie Minogue and even as part of Pippa Middleton’s honeymoon Down Under. It’s essentially the suite to the stars, and it’s no surprise why.

Spanning 350 square-metres, you’d have a tough mission finding a better view in the city let alone the country. But from $22,000 a night (with a minimum two night stay) you’d expect nothing less.

So what exactly does one of the country’s most expensive hotel rooms get you for a weekend stay?

Well, the celebrity experience starts from the moment you step off your plane, with a private car waiting for you at the airport.

Once at the hotel, your own private concierge will check you in before being whisked to your suite.

The room is out of this world big. Big enough to sleep six (although two of those guests will need to take the couch or use a trundle provided by the hotel).

The kitchen, which has all the bells and whistles you’ll need throughout a stay, will hardly be used thanks to your own private butler who will attend to every beck and call throughout the stay.

What’s really entertaining, is that you won’t even know they’re coming – with the suite having a hidden entrance for your private staff to enter and exit without guest interruption.

It may just look like a fancy kitchen.

But tucked away just here … is the location of the secret butler's entry.

The bathroom has one of the best views in the whole place, especially if you kick back in the oversized spa bath (which takes a good 45 minutes to fill). The views extend beyond the Harbour Bridge all the way to Luna Park, making it a pretty decent spot if you were to spend a boujee new year’s eve in the city. Oh, and did I mention that when the spa water does get cold, you can warm up again with your own private sauna just five steps away.

Give yourself a solid 45 minutes to heat up this bathtub.

But for the rest of us who have a little less coin in the bank to spend on a hotel stay, the Park Hyatt Harbour View Room with king or twin bedding starts at $800 with amazing views across the city.

Each room features amenities such as Le Labo toiletries, commissioned Australian artwork an the Opera House view rooms with sunken bath with views out across the harbour.

The Dining Room Sydney serves up an insane menu, all with an incredible view.

Make sure you leave room for dessert.

While of course there’s the option to lap it all up from your room and order in-room dining – the hotel’s Dining Room is a hard one to pass up, especially if you indulge in their three-course menu
