IT IS the most simple of features that could turn this business jet into the most revolutionary aircraft in our skies.

THE days of craning your neck for a glimpse of the view outside a plane’s tiny porthole window could soon be over.

Plans are underway for a revolutionary fleet of business jets outfitted with huge windows that would offer unparalleled views of the earth below — as well as providing more natural light than previously imagined on a passenger plane.

Brazilian aerospace company Embraer has come up with the revolutionary design for their Lineage 1000 business jets.

The design concept, which they have dubbed the Kyoto Airship, includes massive viewing platforms with large rectangular windows and skylights, which can be enjoyed by flyers wherever they are sitting, Business Insider reports.

The Japanese-inspired design also accommodates for passengers who would prefer to sit on the floor rather than standard seats.

And while skylights have been on planes before, these would be the first to feature on large jets with a pressurised cabins.

Of course, it all comes at a great cost: the Embraer Lineage 1000 has a $74 million price tag.

“We’ve proven to ourselves that we can make this, and when a Lineage customer is ready to order this aeroplane, we will make it,” Embraer’s vice president of interior design Jay Beever told Business Insider.

The Embraer Lineage 1000 business jet is already an enviable way to travel.

The lavishly decorated jet comfortably seats 19 passengers and boasts a central living area, bedrooms, walk-in shower, dining room, fully-equipped kitchen — complete with espresso machines, ovens and a dishwasher — and iPod docking stations, televisions, Blu-ray players and Wi-Fi connectivity.
