Aldi Special Buys camping sale prices beaten by Coles ‘best buys’

It’s one of the best travel sales of the year for the budget supermarket, but Coles has swooped in to launch an even better deal.

Aldi: The secrets behind its Special Buys

With spring well and truly here – and summer not far away – now is the perfect time to get planning an outdoors escape with your family, especially over the school holidays.

With interstate travel not back in full action, most holidays will be taking place in our own state and territory.

To get you in the right gear for your next holiday, discount supermarket Aldi is about to launch the perfect tent for the trip.

Aldi’s Special Buys on Saturday, September 12, boasts a huge six-person tent for just $149.

The best bit? No fiddly parts or difficult instructions. It’s an instant pop-up tent so no set-up is required and $30 cheaper than when it went on sale last year.

This is dream news for anyone who has struggled putting up or down a tent in windy weather or fading daylight.

The six-person tent is 3m wide and nearly 2m high. It has a pre-attached frame, internal storage pockets, a power cord entry point and an awning.

For setting up and taking down, it has three awning poles and an oversized carry bag for easy packing.

The German supermarket is also selling a similar four-person tent for $129 that is 2.4m wide and 1.85m high.

But rival supermarket Coles hopes to do one better, launching its own camping gear sale with some items having an even cheaper price tag.

Going on sale a week before Aldi, Coles will release a limited number of its own four-person dome tent for just $59.99 on Friday, September 4. The tent features a lantern hanger, power cord inlet, carry bag and all the pegs and ropes you’ll need to get it into form.

Both supermarkets are also battling for the best camping chair, with Aldi rolling out a ‘premium chair’ for $24.99 while Coles will also have a version $5 cheaper at $19.99.

Coles said its new ‘Best Buys’ program from this Friday is being brought to an additional 20 supermarkets, which Coles said was due to the “popular demand” of its previous launches.

“Coles Best Buys aims to deliver exceptional value on new and exciting products that emulate top branded products our customers wouldn’t usually find at Coles,” Coles general manager for health and home Jonathan Torr said.

“Coles Best Buys is quickly gaining momentum with shoppers for its great value and variety of products typically not found in supermarkets.”
