You can actually get paid to travel the world and drink gin
HAD a tough week at work? Don’t worry — someone just created the job of your dreams.
YOU know all those times you’ve daydreamed about getting paid to do something awesome instead of whatever you’re doing in your daily grind?
Good news — one of those awesome jobs has just been created. And it’s even better if you’re a fan of gin.
Gin brand Bombay Sapphire and hospitality firm Inception Group has teamed up to find a global ambassador whose actual paid job will be to travel the world drinking gin.
The global ambassador — and a mate — will travel to Mumbai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, San Francisco, New York, and Lisbon between August 2018 and November 2018.
The job was created to mark the launch of a new bar in Soho, London called Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration, which was inspired by the character Phileas Fogg in Jules Verne’s Around the World in Eighty Days.
At the end of the global ambassador’s trip, they’ll create their own signature gin cocktail made from the botanicals they collected around the world — and they’ll get that cocktail on the house whenever they visit the bar.
There’s no word on the salary and there are some catches.
Applicants must be aged 21 and over, have some skills with taking photos, writing and using social media, have a valid passport and don’t mind the occasional need to wear Victorian clothes. (Don’t ask us — it’s actually listed in the job description.)
If you think you’re up to the task, applications close August 27 and the successful applicant will be selected by the British Army officer and renowned explorer Levinson Wood.
