Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold tier offer for rival loyalty program members
Qantas is offering frequent flyers the opportunity to fast track their status if they switch to Qantas from another airline loyalty program.
For the first time, Qantas is offering top tier members of other loyalty programs the opportunity to “fast track” their flying status to Gold tier when they switch to the flying kangaroo.
Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth says the offer follows a surge in demand for people asking Qantas to switch programs.
“With so much uncertainty in the market, we’ve seen a spike in requests from people wanting us to match their status with other airlines,” Ms Wirth says.
Gold tier benefits with Qantas include lounge access, preferential seating, priority check-in and boarding, upgrade requests and more.

How the ‘Qantas Status Fast Track’ offer works:
Individuals who hold eligible loyalty status with one of the 16 qualifying airline programs are invited to switch and take advantage of the Qantas Status Fast Track offer. Flyers are then required to earn 100 frequent flyer status credits in three months.
That’s the equivalent of five return economy trips between Sydney and Melbourne or one return business class trip from Melbourne to Cairns.
In addition to helping expedite their status in the program, the offer also includes 90 days of complimentary access to the airline’s network of Qantas Club lounges and extra checked baggage.
Typically, members are required to earn 700 status credits to reach Qantas Frequent Flyer’s Gold tier and 600 status credits to retain the benefits each membership year.
Those wishing to transfer from a higher flying tier – Platinum and Platinum One equivalents – will only be able to transfer to Qantas’ Gold status, rather than have their status matched. Reaching a higher frequent flyer status requires members to earn the normal requirements within a membership year.
Registrations for the Qantas Status Fast Track close December 18, 2020. For more information visit qantas.com/statusfasttrack.
