TikTok users have just discovered the ultimate packing item and they’re obsessed, describing it as a “game changer”.

Item solves annoying packing problem

One of the hardest things when packing for a trip is trying to fit all your clothes into a suitcase.

While you may not necessarily wear all the clothes, accessories and shoes you pack for a holiday, having options is paramount.

But the real question is – how do you fit it all items into your luggage. Most people just fold their clothes, however, there’s appears to be a better way to maximise your space.

TikTok is going crazy for the “ultimate” travel hack – packing cubes.

While it has been around for years, some people have only just discovered it since travel has only recently resumed – and they’re obsessed.

“I just solved the biggest problem I have with packing,” US food and fashion blogger, Vera Cai said in a TikTok.

“I saw that my friend had these in Italy. I was like there’s no way this b**ch will fit all her clothes in that suitcase.

“But she did so I used her Amazon account and got the same ones.”

Vera ended up purchasing the packing cubes, which are also available on Amazon Australia for $27.99 for a set of eight.

In the clip, Vera revealed how she managed to pack seven jumpers into one of the cubes, eight shirts in another and two weeks’ worth of socks and underwear in one of the smaller-sized cubes.

“I am obviously not done tidying up everything but my suitcase has never looked this empty before. It’s so organised, like so freaking organised.

“I know where everything is.”

Vera’s clip has been liked more than 35,000 times with TikTok users also overly impressed by the packing item.

Others described the cubes as “life savers”.

“I packed my entire closet and six pairs of shoes for a three month move and packing cubes are a life saver,” one woman wrote.

“I’m so glad you found packing cubes!! I’ve used them for yeeeaars & they’re a total game changer,” another wrote, while a third said: “Packing cubes are the way to go.”

Another traveller pointed out compression packing cubes.

“I have them and take so much clothes with me bc it’s all compressed in my suitcase,” they wrote.

When Vera asked how the compression works without a vacuum, the TikTok user explained:

“It’s just double zippers! Some have like a vacuum thing where you can manually press all the air out, I have one of those and it’s great too!”

It comes after a packing expert has revealed why holiday-makers should start planning to pack a whole two weeks before you’re due to take off.

Lydia Mansel, who runs the site Just Packed, believes that preparing up to a fortnight in advance allows travellers to plan for all eventualities.

Speaking to Travel + Leisure she said: “For any length of trip, you should start thinking about what you need to pack about a week to two weeks prior.

“Personally, I use the notepad on my phone to jot down items I’ll definitely need and add as something else comes to mind.

“For clothing, I type out all of the days I’m there as well as any specific events (sit-down dinners, weddings, hikes) where I’ll need to have a better idea of what I’m actually going to wear.”

She also recommends cutting back on footwear, adding: “The worst packing mistake for a short trip is definitely packing too many shoes.”

Unsurprisingly, Lydia said the hack she swears by is packing cubes, as they keep your outfits organised in your suitcase.

“For the longest time, I didn’t believe in the hype, choosing to simply roll or pack my belongings in my bag,” she admitted.

“Since investing in a set of packing cubes, my entire packing process has become more organised.

“Depending on the trip and what I’m bringing with me, I’ll either pack designated outfits together, use the cubes to hold shoes I don’t want to get scuffed up, or group similar pieces (like T-shirts) together.”
