WHEN it comes to boarding your plane, you've been doing it all wrong.

Well, it's actually not your fault. The airlines are to blame.

You see, while some board from back to front, and others allow those in window seats first and work in towards the aisle, others still insist on boarding from front to back, the Huffington Post reported.

It's a method that just makes absolutely no sense. Think about it.

How many times have you been forced to stand in the aisle waiting for someone in front of you to find somewhere to stow their carry on bag? Let alone those people who take extra time to organise their bags, grabbing items out they may need while blocking the aisle. It means those at the back are often left scrambling, just finding their seats as the plane is rearing up to go.

The aisle is so small in economy that at times you may be able to just pass them, but other times you need to wait.

It slows everything down.

When the plane is boarded from back to front, those towards the rear of the plane can get to their seats quicker, leading to less backlog.

But even this isn't a perfect solution - it's best if the plane is boarded from window seats to aisles. Otherwise those in the aisle seats will have to get up for those in the rest of the row.

Considering the huge cost airlines face every minute a plane is sitting on the tarmac instead of up in the air, you'd think airlines would wisen up.

Besides, the more it costs them to operate, the more it will cost you when you book your next flight.
