Aussies eager to nab cheap airfares are in luck with Virgin Australia releasing tickets as low as $55.

Virgin’s Ready, Set, Jet sale is currently running, offering a load of cheap flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Cairns.

Sydneysiders keen to get to the popular hotspot of Byron Bay can do so from just $55 one way – the cheapest flight price of the sale.

There are also fares from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast for $69 economy, one way.

Other deals include Melbourne to Hobart from $89, Brisbane to Cairns from $99 and Adelaide to Melbourne from $89.

Those looking to get out of the country can nab a flight from Adelaide to Bali (Denpasar) from just $479 return, or from $549 if flying out of Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney.

Meanwhile, flights to Queenstown, New Zealand, start from $289 one way from Melbourne, or $305 from Sydney.

The sale is running until 11.59pm AEST Thursday, March 23, unless sold out prior.

Virgin also recently announced it has extended the expiry date of Future Flight credits.

“Your credits will be available to make bookings for travel up to December 31, 2023,” it states on the site.
