Virgin Australia announces mammoth international flight sale

Virgin Australia has announced a mammoth sale that the airline claims is one of the best it has ever released — but the fares won’t last long.

Dust off those passports, because a sale one airline says is the “best it has ever seen” has just landed.

Virgin Australia has launched its mammoth mid-year international sale, flinging fares from just$315 return to popular holiday destinations such as Bali, Samoa, Vanuatu, Queenstown, Fiji and Tokyo.

With Queenstown and Tokyo both topping the list as popular spots for Aussies over winter, the airline expects these routes to be some of the most popular for the sale.

The sale lasts for five days, from today until midnight AEST this Friday 24 May 2024 (unless sold out prior), for select travel dates between 1 June 2024 and 11 April 2025.

International Sale fare highlights (return Economy Lite fares, valid in both directions), include:

• Between Melbourne and Queenstown from $315 return

• Between Sydney and Queenstown from $365 return

• Between Brisbane and Queenstown from $425 return

• Between Sydney and Nadi (Fiji) from $449 return

• Between Gold Coast and Denpasar (Bali) from $499 return

• Between Brisbane and Nadi (Bali) from $529 return

• Between Brisbane and Denpasar (Bali) from $559 return

• Between Melbourne and Denpasar (Bali) from $559 return

The airline is hoping to push more travel to Vanuatu’s Port Vila after Air Vanuatu’s recent entry into voluntary administration.

Air Vanuatu entered voluntary administration earlier this month, leaving many Aussies stranded. In response, after Air Vanuatu entered voluntary administration, Virgin Australia made the decision to increase its services between Brisbane and Vanuatu to five return flights per week, with the airline now operating 10 weekly Vanuatu services in a bid to aid Australians stranded by the collapse.
