This song is driving people crazy on flights
THIS pop song was a huge hit a few years ago, but right now it’s making people very angry.
IF YOU have flown with British airline Jet2 recently, you would be familiar with this little ditty.
The chart-topping pop song Hold My Hand, by British artist Jess Glynne, has been used by the airline in its recent advertising campaigns as well as in-flight.
And look, it’s not a bad song.
But it seems Jet2 has been blasting it a little too frequently, because passengers are so sick of hearing it they’ve threatened to never fly with the airline again.
Fed-up passengers bombarded the airline with complaints about the overuse of the song on Twitter, the NME reports.
“The worst thing about flying with Jet 2 is having to hear Jess Glynne about six times,” one person complained.
“That Jess Glynne song on Jet 2 planes makes me wanna smash my head against the window,” another said.
Another passenger tweeted: “Jet 2 play Jess Glynne one more time I dare you”.
Here are some other examples of passengers railing against yet another play of Hold My Hand. It’s worth mentioning we haven’t included any of the many, many tweets containing with expletives.

Airlines have had a lot of success using popular songs in campaigns.
Qantas, forever associated with Peter Allen’s I Still Call Australia Home, adopted Randy Newman’s It Feels Like Home in more recent years.
A global ad campaign by Virgin Atlantic in 2010 had everyone humming along to Muse’s cover of Nina Simone’s Feeling Good. Austrian Airlines have even used the world’s most famous waltz — The Blue Danube by Johann Strauss II — to spruik its services.
Despite the backlash to its chosen theme song, Jet2 has denied anyone had a problem with Hold My Hand.
“Our Hold My Hand concept is very popular with customers, and we receive a huge amount of positive feedback about both the advert and the song,” the company told NME.
Anyway, it could be worse. Someone once edited the Jetstar theme tune on a continuous loop for an hour.
