Budget airline cancels flights from Gold Coast to Singapore
Passengers will have to rebook flights before the airline stops running the route mid-year.
Aussie passengers with tickets to a major Asian tourist destination have been left scrambling to re-book their flights after an airline scrapped the route.
Singapore Airlines budget line Scoot has sent an email to passengers announcing that they will no longer offer flights between the Gold Coast Airport and Singapore Airport after July 17.
The airline explained it is attempting to “adjust capacity” and “optimise resources” to meet demand.
Customers with tickets after the mid- July cut-off date will be able to get a full refund or flight credit with the airline.
Scoot will continue offering flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Perth to Singapore Airport twelve times a week.
“Australia remains an important market to Scoot and we are committed to connecting travellers between Australia and other parts of the world,” a Scoot spokesperson said.
The airline was one of the first international carriers to fly out of Coolangatta after the pandemic.
