Sydney Airport unveils huge luxury precinct
Passengers will notice a big change at the major Aussie airport after it upped its game, unveiling part of its “world-class” fashion precinct.
Passengers will soon notice a big change at Sydney Airport — particularly those who love their fashion.
The T1 International terminal is now home to several high-end stores with Balenciaga, Prada and Saint Laurent, just to name a few.
The fancy new stores form part of the airport’s luxury shopping precinct which is set to be fully complete in mid-2023.
The brands that are yet to follow are Cartier, Celine, Dior, Gentle Monster, Louis Vuitton, Moncler, Valentino and Versace.
All 19 have agreed to six-year lease terms through to 2027. Among the stores, Louis Vuitton’s will be the largest — the brand’s first travel retail store in the Southern Hemisphere.

Sydney Airport’s executive general manager of commercial, Mark Zaouk, said the move is to bolster the airport’s luxury retail offering.
“The new brands that are set to open as part of the revitalised precinct, are revered around the world and we know passengers travelling through Sydney Airport will be excited for their arrival,” Mr Zaouk told news.com.au.
“For that reason, we’re anticipating a positive reaction from passengers as we deliver Australia’s largest collection of luxury brands all under one roof – it’s our equivalent of shopping the Champs-Élysées – it’s world-class.”
He said the new precinct is part of Sydney Airport’s wider retail approach to provide a range of different brands and travel exclusives for passengers to enjoy as they travel through the airport.
Heinemann Tax & Duty Free will also unveil a new beauty, fashion, luxury timepieces and
jewellery offer.
The new zones will feature an expanded range of luxury and premium brands, some of which are exclusive to Sydney Airport.
“International passengers can also look forward to a number of Australian firsts, including
Louis Vuitton’s first travel retail store in the southern hemisphere and the brand’s largest
stand-alone travel retail store in the world and Gentle Monster’s first store in Australia and
New Zealand,” Mr Zaouk said.
Once complete in mid-2023, the precinct will showcase over 2,700 sqm of luxury shopping
and Australia’s largest collection of luxury brands in one streetscape.
