Parents slammed after video of toddler prompts “child-free” plane sections

Video footage of a toddler “running wild” on a long-haul flight has prompted calls for child-free sections on planes, as the parents are slammed online.

Video prompts call for 'child free sections' on planes

Wild footage showing a toddler running rampant on a long-haul flight has prompted calls for “child-free sections” on planes.

The video was posted to the Reddit forum ‘Public Freakout’ last year and quickly amassed thousands of comments slamming the child’s parents for her behaviour.

In the clip, the toddler can be seen shouting at her parents and jumping up and down on the tray table with bare feet as it bends under her weight.

The jumping causes the chair of the man in front of the toddler to shake, before the child is seen touching his headrest while the he attempts to ignore the disturbance.

According to the person who filmed the incident, the toddler had been behaving the same way throughout the entire eight-hour flight.

“I would feel like a failed parent if my kids were doing this and I was just straight up allowing it,” one person replied to the video.

“This is how kids are at that age – but this is not how parents should be when their kids are like this,” another commented.

“No, people just don’t want to be bothered by their own children. So they ignore what they are doing to others,” a third bluntly wrote.

Other comments praised the man in front of the toddler for his patience throughout the ordeal.

“How that man remained calm is anyone’s guess,” one person speculated.

“I’m pretty non-confrontational, but even I would stand up and say something,” another commented.

“I bet he did. A parent willing to let their kid act like that is not going to listen to someone asking them to stop,” a third added.

Attention shifted to the long-running debate about the need for “child-free sections” on planes as the video prompted commentators to share their horror travel experiences.

“They really need to implement child-free sections on planes. I’ve never had a flight that didn’t have a child crying for the majority of the flight,” one person shared.

“I mean my partner and myself made a decision of not having children for that exact reason.”

“I think it’s a great idea. I can’t stand kids,” another replied.
