The deadly anaconda lurking in Brazil’s Amazon River
IT LURKS deep in the Amazon River and kills its prey (including humans!) in a bone-chilling way. This TV host came dangerously close to being its next victim.
THEY’RE the terrifying predators lurking in the tropical rainforests of the Amazon and this television host came dangerously close to being one of its victims.
British thrill seeker, Jeremy Wade, faced his greatest fear when he came across a deadly, six metre anaconda in the murky Amazon River.
Host of the adventure show, River Monsters, Wade was searching the waters to find the culprit of a series of bone-crushing human deaths in Porto de Moz, deep in the rainforest of Brazil.

While the anaconda is not a venomous snake, it is the largest native snake in the Americas and uses its strong, muscular body to kill its pray. Grabbing its victim, it wraps its body around its prey, squeezing until it dies from suffocation.
Wade was diving in the dark murky waters when he unexpectedly came face-to-face with the terrifying bone crusher.
“Look at the size of this, I’ve stumbled into a potential man-eater,” he said.
Locals say there have been sightings of anacondas that are more than 10 metres long in the area, reported the Daily Mail.
Although attacks on humans are rare, there have been several fatal cases in the past.
