Favourite UK hangouts of newly engaged Meghan and Harry

FROM a London pizza shop to the Royal Family’s famous castles, these are the secret spots where the newly engaged couple have been hanging out.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle open up about their engagement

IT’S official: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are tying the knot.

Markle has already moved into Prince Harry’s pad, and if reports are correct, she hasn’t just fallen for our favourite royal rebel, but for the UK, too.

It’s just been revealed the couple will live at Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace, but here are some of the couple’s other favourite hangouts around London and the UK.

CHILTERN FIREHOUSE, LONDON

Who goes there? Sports stars and royals.

The royals love this up-market restaurant and bar, which is famous for its Great Gatsby-style decor (think lots of marble, exposed brickwork and sharp-suited barmen), and they’re not alone — David Beckham, Lindsay Lohan, Cara Delevingne, Rita Ora and Kirsten Dunst have all been spotted here.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie (the daughters of Prince Andrew) are two of its

biggest fans. Although Prince William and Prince Harry have never been snapped leaving this trendy Marylebone bar, insiders are already predicting it could end up being Prince Harry’s bucks party venue.

CHIPPING NORTON, THE COTSWOLDS/OXFORDSHIRE

Who goes there? Politicians, supermodels and royalty.

When former British Prime Minister David Cameron moved to a tiny hamlet just outside the Cotswolds village of Chipping Norton, the area’s cool rating admittedly took a bit of a bashing, but it soon regained its title as Britain’s capital of rural cool.

The Beckhams recently bought a nine-bedroom property just a few kilometres from the village of Chipping Norton, which Prince Harry has always loved, and Kate Moss and Elle Macpherson have both owned properties nearby.

The year 2015 saw the opening of Chipping Norton’s Soho Farmhouse, the Cotswolds outpost of the famous private members’s club, and it’s known that Prince Harry took Meghan to the club and hotel for a romantic weekend.

Their well-documented love of the area is the reason many believe they’ll move here permanently next summer.

BUNGA BUNGA, BATTERSEA, LONDON

Who goes there? Party-loving royals.

Who doesn’t love a pizza? This quirky celebrity hotspot can be found on the border of Battersea and Chelsea, two of London’s most exclusive neighbourhoods.

Rather oddly, the restaurant and club describes itself as being Silvio Berlusconi-themed, but this hasn’t proved a deterrent for the wildest royals: Prince Harry has been seen making a bleary-eyed exit, and Princess Beatrice and James Middleton (brother of the Duchess of

Cambridge) have also been papped here.

It’s another venue being listed as a possibility for Prince Harry’s bucks bash. Perhaps he’ll turn up on one of the venue’s legendary karaoke nights? All we know is this — we’d do anything to see him belting out I Will Survive.

NORFOLK

Who goes there? Rural royals.

The county of Norfolk has proved to be the destination of choice for royals keen to escape the bright lights of London. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge set up home here after getting married, and it’s still the first place they escape to when they get a weekend off.

Their base is the sprawling Anmer Hall, a wedding present from the Queen — and yes, we’re very aware that makes our own wedding presents look depressingly meagre.

The royals have always had a soft spot for this rural corner of England. Nearby Sandringham House is one of the Queen’s private homes, and the area is dotted with sprawling country piles.

Beautiful Holkham Hall is owned by the Earl of Leicester and another nearby mansion, Houghton Hall (parts of which are open to the public), is home to the Marquess of Cholmondeley.

The entire county is filled with cosy country pubs, and Prince Harry has been spotted enjoying a tipple at The Dabbling Duck in Great Massingham. Rumour has it that he fell in love with the area after his big brother moved here, and insiders report it is highly likely he’ll purchase a house (sorry, make that mansion) here.

CHELSEA, LONDON

Who goes there? Royals, to shop.

We’ve lost count of the number of times the Duchess of Cambridge and her sister, Pippa Middleton, have been spotted strutting down Chelsea’s the King’s Road, and Meghan was spotted splashing the cash there earlier this week.

Chelsea is London’s wealthiest neighbourhood and the King’s Road is where London’s beautiful people love to shop.

Both the Duchess of Cambridge and her sister Pippa are huge fans of Peter Jones, the royals’ favourite department store. Prince Harry has also been spotted leaving Chelsea’s The Jam Tree pub, but don’t panic — in September he was spotted undoing those alcohol-related calories at a nearby private gym.

There’s even a reality TV show about the neighbourhood. Made in Chelsea documents the lives of a handful of rich young socialites who live here. One of these was Spencer Matthews, who quit the show (reportedly under pressure) shortly before his brother, James Matthews, married Pippa. Royals and reality stars just don’t mix.

BALMORAL, SCOTLAND

Who goes there? Immediate members of the royal family.

Prince Harry and Prince William both spent huge chunks of their childhood — and many of their Christmases — at Balmoral, which has been the Scottish home of the Royal Family since it was purchased for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852.

It won’t come as a surprise that it’s closed to the public, but if you fancy a taste of the high life, Scotland-style, the next best thing might just be a stay at another Scottish country pile: Cromlix, the enormous Perthshire mansion-turned-hotel purchased by tennis player Andy Murray in 2014.

Guests can fish, hunt and golf on the enormous estate, and they can also sign up for tennis lessons. Funnily enough, Murray’s mother, Judy, recently revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge told her that Prince George hopes to be “the next Andy Murray”.

The tennis pro has met many of the royals before, and Prince William presented him with his OBE in 2013. Murray and his brother both got married at the venue, too.

Who knows, Cromlix could be hosting another certain high profile wedding in 2018.
