Stunning Bali beach gains popularity with Aussie tourists
There was a time when hardly any foreigner knew about this “stunning” Bali beach, but now every tourist wants to visit it.
Tourists are raving about this Bali beach.
Melasti Beach in Uluwatu was once little known to foreigners and used more frequently by locals communities for ceremonies, but with its blue water and lush green backdrop, it is quickly gaining popularity.
More than one million people have visited this year with the spot especially popular with Australians, Russians and Chinese visitors, according to the chief manager of Melasti Beach, Wayan Karnawa.
Local media reported data that showed from January until the first week of September, 1,054,646 people had visited the beach, which included 249,726 foreign tourists and 804,920 domestic tourists.
“From before the pandemic, even now visits have increased by approximately 30 per cent,” Mr Karnawa told reporters, according to The Bali Sun.
“Previously the maximum was 2000 people per day but now it can be 3000 people and on national holidays it can be up to 10,000 people per day.”
He said recent tourism development, such as small beachfront businesses and beach clubs, was beneficial to local communities.
Some tourists on social media have declared Melasti as “the best beach in Bali”.
Videos show people swimming in the clear waters, running on white sand, and hanging out at luxurious beach clubs with sun lounges and pools.
Melasti Beach is actually in Ungasan but is known better to tourists as being in Uluwatu.
It is the southern most tip of the popular Indonesian holiday island.
