‘Nightmare’: Australian influencer’s Bali holiday ruined by construction workers
An Australian influencer has opened up about her experience staying at a luxury villa in Bali, describing it as her “worst nightmare”.
An Australian plus-size model has taken to social media to blast her Bali accommodation, after finding it unsuitable for her content-creation needs.
Blogger CurvySam on Wednesday posted a video to her TikTok account, detailing what she’s described as her “worst nightmare”.
“Honestly, I feel like crying,” she says she she starts filming herself poolside in a villa booked through Airbnb.
“I’ve just got into my accommodation, whilst the photos are beautiful, next door is a construction site with non privacy.”
She pans the camera up to show large black tarps covering a building next door in the process of being built.
“Stuff has fallen in the pool from the construction site,” CurvySam said, visibly beginning to get a little upset.
“This is going for 7.30 in the morning until 5pm. I’m here in this villa to shoot content, to talk on camera, and I can’t do that.”
She goes into detail about how the two nights in the villa cost more than her other nine days spent on the Indonesian holiday island combined, and how she’s saved while starting a new business.
Construction noise can be heard throughout the video. Ironically, she chose to film at the villa because of construction going on next door to her Brisbane apartment.
“[Construction workers] keep looking over and watching me. I’ve said hello, but this is not what I wanted,” she said.
“It’s a beautiful remote location and it’s not the owners fault and it’s not the workers fault,” she wrote in the video description.
In a follow-up video, CurvySam said the villa manager has gone “above and beyond,” apologising, speaking to the construction crew, and providing her with times they will take breaks.
CurvySam said she’ll likely film the content on her return to Australia when she visits family in Melbourne.
