VISITORS to Melbourne will be able to enjoy accommodation from $49 per night when Tune Hotels opens in the Victorian capital later this year.

The 225-room property is set to open in Swanston St, Carlton, on November 1.

Guests at Tune Hotels, popular throughout Asia, can choose to pay only for the amenities they want in a similar way to budget airlines.

The basic room rate at Tune Hotel Melbourne includes air-conditioning and/or heating.

For an extra $10 guests will get a pair of towels and toiletry kits and enjoy high-speed wireless broadband and Foxtel TV.

The hotel has an indoor courtyard, a lounge, restaurant, café/convenience store, luggage storage, a self-service laundrette and computer kiosks as well as a basement car park.

It is making 1000 rooms available at the special opening price for bookings made by June 28 for stays until March 31, 2014.
