This incredible luxury retreat has finally reopened after the bushfires

After a devastating summer, one of the most luxurious destinations in NSW has finally reopened – and it’s just as good as ever.

Don't Delay Your Stay: Blue Mountains virtual road trip

One of the most magnificent retreats in the Blue Mountains is back in business after it was forced to close during the summer’s bushfires – but was spared thanks to the efforts of firefighters.

Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley, a luxury retreat sitting among 2800ha of sprawling bushland, has reopened this month and is welcoming back guests “with open arms and grateful hearts”.

“We are delighted to be back in the valley,” the resort’s general manager Tim Stanhope said.

“We are keen to share with our guests this unique opportunity to witness and be part of the regeneration of the landscape and the abundant wildlife still here on the reserve.”

While there is some scarring of the surrounding bushland, large areas remain untouched by the fires.

Even better, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, reptiles and birds have started to return and regeneration has already begun due to recent rain.

The property is said to be in “excellent condition” after it was spared by the firefighting efforts of Rural Fire Service volunteers.

The property has always had an environmental focus but even more so now as extra work will be done in habitat restoration to support regeneration of the area – and guests can help.

“This is a rare opportunity to observe first-hand the resilience and extraordinary transformation of nature and to contribute to our conservation efforts,” the resort’s activities and conservation manager Simone Brooks said.

“We are deeply appreciative of the contributions of our guests. With their help, we have built a seedbank of over one million seeds representing 25 local native species that is now playing a vital role in repopulating areas of damage.”

Sitting between Wollemi National Park and the Gardens of Stone National Park, Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley is a secluded sanctuary in the spectacular Wolgan Valley.

Each of the 40 villas have a private pool, double-sided fireplace and private veranda, while the main homestead has first-class dining options and the elegant Valley Bar and Terrace that serves speciality wines and the locally distilled 1832 Wolgan Gin.

“We encourage you to holiday here this year,” Mr Stanhope said.

“There has never been a better and, quite frankly, a more important time to return to the valley. We welcome guests with open arms and grateful hearts.”
