Katoomba Falls Night-Lit Walk part of new winter festival

A 1.3km walk that sent social media into overdrive this year is a highlight of a new winter festival coming to the spectacular Blue Mountains.

Blue Mountains Night Trail

A 1.3 kilometre after-dark walk through one of the most scenic parts of NSW will be the highlight of a new winter festival in the Blue Mountains starting this week.

The spectacular Katoomba Falls Night-Lit Walk – which set social media ablaze when it opened earlier this year – is part of the Light Up the Night experience at Scenic World from June 25 to July 11.

Each night Blue Mountains icons like the Three Sisters, Orphan Rocks and Katoomba Falls will be illuminated with dazzling light displays as visitors enjoy night-time adventures only available during those two weeks.

Visitors will be able to watch the evening light display suspended 270m above the magnificent Jamison Valley.

There will also be a Disco Skyway, featuring a light display and soundscape curated by local hip-hop duo Hermitude, and a wintry supper served each night.

The activities connect with the insanely popular Katoomba Falls Night-Lit Walk, which is available all year-round, and gives visitors access to a unique, night-time viewing experience of the surrounding landscape.

The family-friendly walk, which is designed for walkers of all ages and abilities, opened in February after six years of construction.

Throughout the walk, thirteen spotlights highlight the main focal points on the walk with another 390 individual lights to illuminate the well-lit footpaths.
