The Observatory Hotel offers five-star pet service
ROOM service, a pet sitter and even a doggie bed turn-down service on offer at top hotel.
NO MUTTS please - this hotel establishment is five stars.
With a dedicated room service, a pet sitter and even a turn-down service for their doggie beds, pampered poodles such as Barrington are being offered the full treatment by top hotels hoping to lure their owners on holiday.
"It's just great that we can bring him along when we go away. Dogs are a part of the family, you shouldn't have to leave them behind," Barrington's owner Eve Deane said.
The Observatory Hotel at The Rocks in Sydney said there was a growing demand for hotels to cater for dogs, cats and even birds.
"There is a demand in the market for this type of pet service and as a five-star establishment we wanted to cater to that need," hotel marketing director Julia Wach said.
At a check-in price of about $50 per night for each pet, owners can ensure their cat or dog gets its own bed.
There is a catch though - there is a 20kg weight limit so leave the great dane at home.
During their stay, four-legged guests can also take advantage of room service which includes their choice of grilled salmon, gourmet beef, chicken and even Japanese food.
"They really do try to provide everything; it's really fantastic," Mrs Deane said.
A recent survey of pet owners has found as many as 37 per cent of Australians are now taking their dogs on holidays.
