Melissa Sutton, 16, attended 10 separate medical appointments complaining of extreme pain near her rib cage and shortness of breath But each time doctors told her she was suffering with a sports injury and prescribed her with painkillers. Eventually Melissa‚Äôs pain became so intense that her mother Alison Brookes rushed her into A&E, and Melissa was later diagnosed with Ewing‚Äôs Sarcoma ‚Äì a rare form of bone cancer. Melissa, from Rochdale, Lancs, had to have an operation to remove four ribs, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy at Royal Manchester Children‚Äôs Hospital. SE

Pic shows: The cobra with two heads. A longtime snake breeder discovered the stuff of nightmares when he found a cobra on his farm that had been born with two heads. And he said incredibly although it does not eat or drink, it is still alive and growing. Huang Pan, a snake breeder of 10 years in Yulin city of south Chinaâ€™s Guangxi region, said he found the two-headed Chinese cobra (Naja atra) when cleaning empty snake shells. The second "head" appears three-quarters of the way up the snakes body, with both appendages able to move independently. Mr Huang noted that he took a strong interest in the rare snake ever since it hatched, but he fears it may not live too longer as it had not eaten or drunk anything since birth. Mr Huang decided that, for the sake of the snake, he would hand the animal over to the city zoo in the provincial capital Nanning who he hopes may be able to help it. Zookeeper Li Keqi said at the time of the report: "The snake has been alive for 10 days now and has been with us for two, during which time it has already changed its skin once." He added: "But despite the snakeâ€™s stable condition now, there is no way of telling whether it will be able to live on, as it still does not eat or drink water." Polycephaly, the condition of having two heads, has been reported numerous times amongst snakes. However, most polycephalic snakes have a short lifespan, while those in captivity have reportedly lived longer, including a 'rat snake' (Colubrinae) with separate throats and stomachs that survived for 20 years. Pic shows: The minibus the Australian tourist tried to steal. A drunken Australian tourist has been arrested after going on a joyride in a stolen minibus in Hong Kong. According to local media reports, the man, identified only by his first name Patrick, had approached the bus driver while he was parked at the junction of Lockhart Road and Cannon Street in Hong Kong's Causeway Bay. According to eyewitnesses, the minibus driver was just about to leave and closed the doors, and was indicating to the Australian to head to the next vehicle. He did not take kindly to the suggestion, however, and forced the doors open to climb inside. The driver, a 64-year-old man who was not named, said he had put up no resistance when the Australian, who was over 6-foot tall, grabbed him by the neck, and dragged him out of the vehicle. He then climbed into the vehicle and drove off. He was described as being in an excitable state, repeatedly shouting the word "f**k" as he carried out the vehicle hijack. A police spokesman said: "The driver was left standing by the road while the Australian drove off in the vehicle." He told police that the man had been too large to tackle and also smelt of alcohol, and somehow had an injury to his left hand. Police instantly put out an alert and two hours later found the abandoned minibus, which had a broken headlight and a smashed window, at the intersection of Stubbs Road and Nicholson Road. They did not have far to go to find be drunken man, who was apparently just 30 metres away, having fallen asleep beside the road. He was arrested for theft, assault and refusing to give a blood sample or a breath test to prove that he had been drinking. The driver who was treated for shock was interviewed by local media saying his children had been telling him for some time to retire but, despite the recent incident, he was planning to go on for a while yet.
