Award-winning journalist Stephanie Bedo has worked in the media industry for more than 15 years. She got her start after being awarded a cadetship at the Gold Coast Bulletin where she worked while completing a Bachelor of Journalism at Bond University. While on the Gold Coast, Stephanie’s work traversed a number of News Corp Australia’s newspapers, including the Herald Sun and Adelaide Advertiser. She specialises in health and science journalism, which remains her focus as a senior reporter at news.com.au for the last two years. Stephanie was awarded NSW Cancer Council’s Journalist of the Year in 2019 and was a finalist in the Kennedy Awards with her colleagues in the Outstanding Reporting on the Environment category for news.com.au’s Time is Now climate change series in 2020.

A driver, horrified after witnessing a truck driver allegedly plough into a group of five pedestrians and flee the scene, provided some crucial help to police.
