HAD a gutful of the non-ratings period already? Don't despair, there are some cracking TV shows for you to sink your teeth into this year.
Here's a rundown of the best on the box coming your way in 2014.
The Biggest Loser, Channel 10: Biggest Loser is back for series nine, but this time prepare yourselves for Michelle, Shannan and Commando's biggest challenge yet - tackling obesity in an entire town in regional Victoria. This season is guaranteed to be a tear-jerker.
Secrets & Lies, Channel 10: A six-part murder conspiracy drama starring New Zealand actor Martin Henderson. The compelling drama follows the story of an everyday family man, whose life crumbles when he is accused of murdering a four-year-old boy.
Puberty Blues, Channel 10: It's been over a year since the hit coming-of-age '70s drama was on our screens. Season two confronts the teenagers' sex lives and their fractured relationships with their parents.
Love Child, Channel 9: The eight-episode new drama series stars Jessica Marais and Jonathan LaPaglia and focuses on the sexual revolution of 1960s Sydney. We can't wait to see the former Packed to the Rafters star in her new role as a kind-hearted midwife caring for unwed mothers.
The Killing Field, Channel 7: Rebecca Gibney plays the head of a police taskforce in her new drama project. Aussie heart-throb Liam McIntyre has also signed on as a ladies' man detective in the crime thriller.
A Place To Call Home, Channel 7: It was the new number one drama of 2013 as Aussies were swept away with the gripping 1950s drama created by Bevan Lee. We're looking forward to catching up on the saga of Sarah Adams and the Bligh family.
The Amazing Race, Australia, Channel 7: The return of the International Emmy Award-winning reality show that sees super competitive couples race around the world, get into epic fights, make up, and then sometimes breakup is coming back this year. Bring it on.
The Block, Channel 9: After the huge success of last year's The Block Sky High, Nine is bringing back the reno reality show for TWO series in 2014. The production company has purchased a 1980s office building in the Melbourne suburb of Prahran and also a warehouse in Albert Park.
My Kitchen Rules, Channel 7: The reality cooking show claimed the number one spot for most-watched TV event of the year in 2013. No wonder Seven is bringing back the ratings juggernaut.
The Real Housewives of Melbourne, Arena - Foxtel: We still can't believe this one is actually happening. The six ladies chosen to represent the Victorian capital - Chyka Keebaugh, Gina Liano, Andrea Moss, Janet Roach, Jackie Gillies, and Lydia Schiavello - are all business women as well as housewives. Let's hope there's plenty of drama (and Botox).
Game of Thrones, Foxtel: For Thrones fans who are still coming to terms with the Red Wedding episode, the wait is nearly over. Season four of the cult fantasy drama is locked in for 2014 and will focus on the latter part of George RR Martin's novel, A Storm of Swords.
The Bachelor, Channel 10: Even though the ratings didn't blow the competition out of the water, fans of the reality dating show are already counting down the days until the next bachelor is named after the dreamy Tim Robards chose Anna Heinrich from a bevy of 25 beauties last year.
On top of these, there is also Schapelle (Nine), Party Tricks (Ten), a long-awaited revival of Spicks and Specks (ABC1), Gina (Nine) and a new Chris Lilley series based around Summer Heights High character, Jonah Takalua (ABC).
Other favourites returning to our screens in 2014 are House Rules (Seven), Big Brother (Nine), The Voice (Nine) and The X Factor (Seven).
New reality series include The Voice Kids and So You Think You Can Dance Australia, while the future of Australia's Got Talent is still undecided.
