Siri is your new best mate as you talk to the hand with Apple Watch
SIRI might not have won you over with her iPhone debut but now she lives in your Apple Watch she is going to be your new best mate.
SIRI goes from an easily forgot feature of the iPhone to your best mate on the Watch. Say “Hey Siri” or press and hold the Digital Crown to activate it.
Here are 10 ways with Siri and Apple Watch that you will always want to talk to the hand:
1. Open the Reminders app on your phone and create a new list called “Shopping List”. Then, whenever you run out of something, activate Siri on your Watch and add things to the list by saying “Add milk (or whatever) to Shopping List”
2. Can’t decide what to do? Tell Siri “Flip a coin” or “roll a die”.
3. Need a forecast? Just ask by saying “What’s the weather tomorrow?”
4. Tell Siri to “Set an alarm for 2pm today”.
5. You can put create a calendar item in by saying “Add meeting with Fred tomorrow at 2pm”. Siri will look in your contacts to find details for “Fred” to add to the meeting note.
6. Got lost while you’re out and about? Tell Siri “Navigate me to home?
7. Ask Siri “What movies are playing today?” to see a list of available films in your area, a synopsis and screening at local cinemas.
8. Siri is the easiest way to remind yourself to do something. “Remind me to walk the dog at 4pm” will mean that come 4pm you won’t just need an overly excited pooch to make you remember you had an outing planned. Perhaps even better, you can say “Remind me to feed the cat when I get home” and, using your location, it will remind you as you arrive at your home address.
9. World time conversions are simple. Just ask: “What’s the time in London?”
10. Whether you’re cooking using a foreign recipe or just wanting to convert the details of your latest fun run for a Facebook post, Siri will convert between measurements. “Convert 10km to miles” gives you the answer of 6.21 miles.
