Meteor spotted in US and Canada as it shot across sky
Hundreds of people reported seeing what appeared to be a flaming meteor streak across the sky. Some even caught it on camera.
A massive fireball has been sighted soaring across the sky above parts of the United States and Canada.
The mysterious object was believed to be a meteor, crossing the sky on June 7 at 9.42pm over the state of Tennessee.
Earlier that week, NASA had predicted that an asteroid bigger than six Olympic swimming pools was set to make a close approach to the Earth on that day.

The light from the flaming meteor was so bright it could be seen as far as Canada, as well as 11 other American states, according to the American Meteor Society (AMS).
The fireball was spotted in Ontario, Canada as well as some of the USA’s northernmost states.
More than 200 people reported seeing the bright light flying overhead.
It was visible for 3.5 seconds – just long enough to be caught on camera.
Two witnesses submitted their video to the AMS.
This video was filmed in Knoxville, Tennessee.
