Did you see the Blue Moon tonight in skies across the world?

THE old saying of ‘once in a Blue Moon’ rang true, as this celestial event took place around the globe.

THE old saying of ‘once in a Blue Moon’ rang true, as this celestial event took place around the globe.

This is an astronomy story that comes up only once in a blue moon, like on Friday.

It will become the second full moon of July.

Geoff Chester of the US Naval Observatory said the traditional definition of a blue moon is two full moons in a month.

It happens about every two years and while it is called a Blue Moon, it has nothing to do with colour.

The next blue moon will be in January 2018.
