HAVE you ever wondered how astronauts go to the toilet while in space?

Well, the question has finally been answered with astronaut Tim Peake filming a revelatory 30 second clip explaining how the space travellers respond to the call of nature.

“The answer to the big question everybody asks, how do you go to the loo in space? It really is quite simple,” Peake said in the clip.

Holding up a large hose-like item with a yellow suction tube at the end, Peake explained it was how the astronauts urinate.

“Here’s the tube you pee in,” he said.

“Take the cap off, turn on the fan and the airflow keeps everything going down the pipe. And also for number two, the airflow does the same. Simple as that.”
