A mysterious NASA post has prompted ridiculous alien conspiracy theories

A MYSTERIOUS announcement by NASA has prompted speculation the space agency has discovered proof of alien life in the universe.

Aliens, people. It’s the only logical explanation.

A MYSTERIOUS NASA tweet has prompted wild theories about whether humans have finally gotten in touch with aliens.

In a tweet posted this morning, the space agency said it will make an announcement tomorrow about a “discovery beyond our solar system”.

It didn’t offer much more detail, other than to say it is specifically related to “planets that orbit stars other than our sun, known as exoplanets”.

But as vague as this preview is, it hasn’t stopped people from launching into conspiracy mode about whether a real-life ET situation is about to unfold.

The news outlet Express even devoted a whole article to it, entitled: “Has Nasa found ALIENS? Space agency to announce ‘discovery beyond our solar system”.

Look guys, we’d love for it to be aliens too, but it’s probably safe to assume it won’t be quite that dramatic.

But hey, exoplanets are still pretty exciting, right?

The announcement will be streamed at 4am (AEST) tomorrow.
