Unlucky tuna

When these Florida fishermen spotted a huge tuna casually swimming right up to them at the dock, they couldnÂ’t believe their eyes.

“Hold my beer and watch this,” one of them can be heard saying as the tuna gets closer to the dock, pushing a large bow wave in front of it as it goes.

When the tasty sportfish is within reach, quick-thinking angler Alex Hare gaffs the fish.

It tries to take off but his aim was good and he hangs on tight to the rope attached to the gaff.

A few seconds later and with another gaff ensuring it doesn’t escape, the men have the estimated 90lb tuna high and dry on the dock, ready to turn into sashimi.

The freakish capture took place on the dock at Islamorada, a village in the Florida Keys that is spread across a number of small islands.
