Man with bionic penis takes part in Reddit Ask Me Anything forum
ONE brave man has taken on the internet and fielded a series of curious questions about his $60,000 bionic penis.
A MAN with a bionic penis has bravely faced a bombardment of curious questions after taking part in a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” forum.
Wanting to only be known as by his username, Titantool, the man explained he suffered a spinal cord injury in a near fatal crash five years ago that left him with partial paralysis.
While still being able to walk, he was left without sufficient bowel, bladder and sexual function, which is why he opted to be the recipient of a bionic penis.
“Thanks to modern science and an amazing surgeon, I was able to get an implant that I can inflate for a full erection,” he wrote on the forum.
Titantool said the operation — which cost close to $A60,000 — saw him getting a bulb, two rods and reservoir inserted into his nether regions.
“There is a pump in my scrotum that I can squeeze. It sends fluid to the chambers to make the penis erect,” he wrote. “On the bulb/valve, I can squeeze a certain direction and the saline drains back into the reservoir.
“Before implants, men had rods and they were basically permanently erect. Now, I can be flaccid or erect whenever I want. I can keep erect for as little or as long as I like.”
While Titantool can maintain a full erection, he admits he is unable to feel anything with his bionic penis.
“I’ve heard most guys say they have no loss of sensation. For me though, because I have a spinal cord injury, I have no feeling there anymore,” he wrote.
“What I kept getting told by all the doctors is sex is mostly in your head. Once I figured that out, it made it much better. Now, I have other areas that are hyper focused and I get pleasure from.”
Titantool said his penis was 7.5 inches before his accident, but because he was unable to get erections, his penis lost length.
“Now it’s just at 5 inches. I lost length, but gained girth and firmness from the implant,” he wrote, adding that “wifey” was pretty happy with it.
It hasn’t been smooth sailing for Titantool, who said it had taken a while to accept his situation.
“Even though I couldn’t get/maintain an erection, the thought of having a device shoved inside my d**k was severely distressing and felt like I was losing my manhood,” he wrote.
“I talked to a lot of men on forums that reported how satisfied they were with theirs. That helped, but I finally got to a place where I had exhausted all options and it was time to do it.”
When asked why he was taking part in the AMA, Titantool said his main motivation was to let guys know a bionic penis was a viable option that could be used to benefit to men, especially those effected by prostate cancer.
“I try and embrace this marvellous piece of science and technology that is given me my manhood back,” he wrote.
“My daily life, doesn’t really change much, although I like the idea that I’m sitting on GO and can be ready for sex in less than 10 seconds.”
